Q: Do players from the ACHA level advance to the NCAA level?
A: It is unusual for players to move from an ACHA level program to an NCAA level program. It does happen occasionally but usually at a school that fields both NCAA and ACHA teams with the ACHA team acting as a farm program.
Q: Are ice hockey scholarships offered by NCAA programs?
A: Some. NCAA Division I and II programs can offer ice hockey scholarships. NCAA Division III schools cannot.
Q: Are ice hockey scholarships offered by ACHA programs?
A: No. ACHA hockey programs are not permitted to offer ice hockey scholarships.
Q: Do NCAA and ACHA teams play each other?
A: NCAA and ACHA teams can schedule each other if they wish, but rarely do. Some top level ACHA programs can compete with NCAA Division III programs in terms of level of play, fan support and facilities.
